First is the penalty for cutting a shitload of contracts in any given season:
This will apply to any team that begins the season with -$5 million in cash. So by this I mean right after I do the flip and before the first FA simm:
Any team with $-5 million in cash will be restricted by the following: (1) No contract offered can exceed a total of $15 million (2) Only 2 offers may be outstanding with Type B players at a time (more can be signed over the course of FA signing but 2 are limited at a time)(3) No Offers to Type A are allowed and (4) A maximum of eight [8] offers can listed per free agency signing period. Trading for cash during the free agency period will NOT be enough to remove any of the above restrictions, no exceptions.
Regarding compensation:
We will continue to have NO protected picks for compensation of signed players.
Type A/B will continue to be determined based solely on ratings, no voting will be done. It is at the discretion of the commissioner to remove players from compensation, but he will provide valid reasoning for this removal.
Compensation for Type A**:
First signing is 1st round pick of signing team.
Second signing is $5 million
Third signing is $10 million
All signings after 3 are $20 million in cash.
**Cash will be moved from signing team to previous team at the time of the signing from now on.
Compensation for Type B:
First signing is second and third round pick
Second signing is fourth round pick and $2.5 million
Third signing is fifth round pick and $5 million
All signings after 3 are $10 million.
If a team signs players that they cannot properly compensate a previous team for, the player will be released, the signing team will be fined an additional $5 million in cash and if a pick was involved, that pick will become the previous teams and the signed player will be release back into the FA pool. The previous team will then be compensated by the new signing team.
